I would say that summer is the perfect time of year to visit SFMOMA (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art), but frankly, any time of year is a perfect time to visit SFMOMA! Transformed and expanded during a three year closure ending in 2016, the new SFMOMA has nearly three times the gallery space and boasts 45,000 square feet of public spaces where art can be appreciated without a ticket. Plus, admission to the museum is always free for those age 18 and younger.
SFMOMA was the first museum on the West Coast devoted exclusively to contemporary art. Located at 151 Third Street in the SOMA neighborhood of San Francisco, SFMOMA is among the best examples of the amazing culture the Bay Area has to offer!
