Donations fund almost 100% of the Festival's yearly expenses.
On Sunday, June 25th, celebrate Stern Grove's 80th season at The Big Picnic starring Kool & The Gang.
The festivities begin at 11:30am with The Big Picnic Party. Party-goers will enjoy reserved picnic table seats at the concert and a private, pre-concert event with catered luncheon in the Grove. You can buy tickets here.
At 2pm, The 80th Annual Stern Grove Season begins with the Big Picnic Concert. Kicking off the first concert of 2017 is opener Quinn DeVeaux, local R&B and funk musician followed by the main attraction, Kool & The Gang. Admission is FREE and open to the public. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis.
Quinn DeVeaux's music is New Orleans soul and early blues with contagious dance rhythms that keep fans grooving in his hometown of San Francisco.
For nearly five decades, Kool & The Gang’s signature funky R&B sound has influenced generations of fans and musicians. With classic hits like “Celebration”, “Cherish”, and “Jungle Boogie”, Kool & The Gang has earned two GRAMMY Awards, seven American Music Awards, 25 Top Ten R&B hits, nine Top Ten Pop hits, and 31 Gold and Platinum albums.
The 80th Season Line-Up of free-admission concerts begins Sunday, June 25th at 2pm and continues through Sunday, August 27th. All concerts are held in Stern Grove at 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard in San Francisco. Read more about the 2017 concert series here.
