Farm Fresh Foods Delivered

Farms throughout the Silicon Valley offer an abundance of quality, organic goods and produce, many of which deliver directly to your door. There are a number of Community Supported Agriculture programs (CSAs) connecting these farms to their local communities, allowing customers to receive a a bounty of goods weekly throughout the growing season. There are a number of CSAs from which to choose:

Greenhearts Family Farm

The Greenhearts husband and wife team personally pick, choose pack and deliver boxes to residences in the Bay Area. Organic produce comes from the Greenheart Half Moon Bay farm as well as from the fields and kitchens of other reliable, local sources. Customers can add eggs, honey, bread, flowers, meat and kombucha to their weekly box and they also receive notes and recipes from the farm with each delivery. Cost is $38 per week with discounts offered for 17 and 34 week commitments.

Eat With The Seasons

Eat With The Seasons partners with a network of local farmers and artisans to offer customizable weekly deliveries. Every week, customer choose the produce based on what is currently in season. Add-ons include seafood, olive oil, jams, syrups, granola, eggs and grass-fed meats. Produce boxes come in a variety of sizes and range in price from $76 to $196 per month. Pick up locations are in a multitude of locations from San Francisco to Hollister. 

Fifth Crow Farm

Located in Pescadero, the Fifth Crow Farm CSA produces all of the organic produce its customers receive. Their variety includes heirloom dry beans, speciality salad greens, berries, herbs, root vegetables and the occasional home canned goods. Neighboring farms provide add-on items such as eggs, honey, chicken, flowers and meats. Convenient pick-up locations span San Francisco to Santa Cruz. The cost ranges from $252 for a 14-week winter program to $702 for a 27-week regular season produce package.

Blue House Farm

Blue House Farm provides produce to many local restaurants and farmers markets. By joining their CSA, customers can receive their own delivery of tomatoes, strawberries, peppers and leaf greens. Other vegetables, flowers and beans are available as add-ons from another local farm. Delivered to 25 Bay Area pick up locations, a winter subscription is $207, a yearly subscription is $690 or you can pay as you go.

Pie Ranch

A Pescadero non-profit that also teaches youth about sustainable agriculture and social justice, the Pie Ranch CSA supports two programs at local high schools that focus on emerging farmers. Offering seasonal organic produce, weekly subscriptions run $26 with either a 12-week fall or summer subscription or a full 24-week program. There are five pick up locations along the coast from San Francisco to Santa Cruz.
