Inman Connect NYC Recap

Last month, I had the privilege of presenting on-stage at Inman Connect New York. The topic of conversation was “Marketing a Home with a Micromanaging Seller”.

Making the decision to sell your home can be a big, and often difficult, decision. The thought of selling can leave a seller with so many feelings: anger, frustration, happiness, relief, anxiety and even fear. For sellers, it can be easy to let those negative feelings take over and second guess every step in the process to getting your home on the market.

When we come across clients who are second guessing and/or micromanaging the process, our job as agents and advisors, is to try to determine why. During my presentation at Inman, I talked a little bit about my background in psychology and how it allows me the ability to really tune into our client’s needs and feelings. To dig deep to discover what is really going on. Most of the time, sellers are just fearful of the unknown, of losing control or of things taking a wild turn for the worse.

More often than not, open communication with our clients helps to alleviate these fears. The Costa Group are big fans of communication. We want our clients to feel safe with us and to know that we always have their best interests at heart.

Making that ‘Costa Group Magic’ happen really is a team effort. Our incredible team at the Costa Group plays a huge part in our success, but our clients also play a crucial role. Our relationship with them really is a true partnership. And, like any successful partnership, there is a level of trust involved, and we need our clients to fully trust in us - in our team, in our process and in our expertise.

Once we gain that trust, there is nothing that we can’t do!
