My Favorite Things About Living in Marin County
While I absolutely love the city, there is just something so incredibly unique and amazing about living in Marin.
For those of you who haven’t had a chance to visit or spend time here, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite things about living in Marin.
Nature - The wide-open expanses of beautiful green in Marin County make the landscape look incredibly lush and welcoming. The Marin Headlands provide a different kind of beauty, as well as an array of flora and fauna to appreciate.
Lifestyle - The people, and the overall vibe, are more chill and laid-back than the city. You can enjoy life at a different pace while still having the city at your fingertips.
Air Quality - Get outside and breathe in deep!
Epic Hiking - From Ring Mountain to Point Reyes, and Mt. Tam to the Tennessee Valley Trail, Marin has hiking for everyone. Whether you’re a newbie or a trail boss, you can find the hike that’s right for you. Don’t forget the waterfall hikes at Carson Falls and Cataract Falls!
Parking - Anyone who drives in the city can tell you how incredibly frustrating it can be to find parking. You’ll rarely encounter such issues in Marin, though.
Food options - Amazing grocery stores and great local haunts? Yes please!
Views , views, and more views - Mount Tamalpais, San Francisco Bay, the Pacific Ocean, and the city itself, for starters. Incredible views in every direction.
Weather - One of the most unique climates in the world, according to my best friend from childhood, who is a park ranger. There can often be a fog blanket over the city (we see it out our windows at our home) and it can be 10-15 degrees warmer in southern Marin than the city itself (only a few miles away). It also can be another 10+ degrees warmer in Northern Marin than Southern Marin!
