San Francisco has a myriad of great burger joints but we've decided to share Zagat's list of the top 5 gourmet burgers in San Francisco. If you're in the mood to splurge, tantalize your tastebuds with one of these high-end hamburgers.
1. Nopa
Nopa serves 'rustic, simple, urban food' created with seasonal ingredients and sourced locally. Their grass-fed burger is grilled over a wood fire and is served with pickled onions and a side of fries. At $17, this 'perfectly cooked, upscale burger' is worth every penny.

2. Epic Steak
The only thing better than a great burger is enjoying it while overlooking gorgeous views of the Bay. Epic Steak offers both with their Wagyu burger and stunning vista of the Bay Bridge. Grilled to perfection, this $15 juicy burger is even better topped with aged cheddar or blue cheese.

3. 4505 Burgers & BBQ
4505 is renowned for their Best Damn Grass-Fed Cheeseburger, a dry-aged beef burger on a sesame scallion bun with Gruyere cheese and secret sauce. This $8 burger has been a fan favorite for years.

4. Marlowe
Established just 6 years ago, Marlowe was listed among the top 100 Bay Area restaurants from 2012 through 2016 by the San Francisco Chronicle. This New American bistro has a met-centric menu and their Marlowe burger has been stated to be "the best burger in the City." AT $16, this carnivores delight is topped with caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, bacon and horseradish aioli.

Umami is a term that originated in Japan that embodies a fifth 'taste' that is savory, bold and flavorful. This taste can be amplified with time as well as specific cooking techniques. And that is what makes Umami burgers on the top 5 list. With over a dozen different burgers to choose from, there is something for everyone at Umami. Their $16 signature Umami burger is a combination of Parmesean frico, Shitake mushrooms, roasted tomato, caramelized onions and house ketchup.
