Ken Fulk Designs The Harrison for Simplicity
Known for his capricious interior design style, Ken Fulk has been the go-to for Silicon Valley's top tech royalty for over 20 years. He has his finger on the pulse of what the cream of the high tech crop desire in a residence.
In one word, they want simplicity.
And that theme helped Fulk define The Harrison, San Francisco's new 298-unit luxury condominium high rise in SOMA, that, according to The Harrison's website, "offers a whole new way to live".
Says Fulk, “I wanted the apartment to feel like a refuge. I wanted people to walk through their doors and exhale. It should feel beautiful and comforting.”
And he most certainly achieved this goal. Each detail, material and fixture within the walls of each residence-down to the soothing color palette, is thoughtfully chosen, exuding elegance and quiet sophistication. The neutral tones Fulk chose are not only versatile but allow the breathtaking views afforded by numerous units to take center stage.
While serenity and simplicity abound in the private residences, Fulk took the opposite approach in the public spaces. Inspired by the indulgence lobbies of classic buildings found both in Nob Hill and Russian Hill, these areas swing more toward lavish while garnering a sense of community.
“People have a strong desire to connect with one another, and we designed these moments for residents to gather, to linger, and to have more opportunities to engage one another," explains the whimsical designer.
